SAFETY FUNCTIONS FPTC-01, FPTC AND CPTC-02
Safe temperature monitoring (STM) can be achieved by using FPTC thermistor protection
modules. Thermistor modules comply with SIL 2 / PL c.
MODULE The ATEX-certified thermistor protection module, Ex II (2) GD, models, FPTC-01 and

CPTC-01, can be integrated into the drive if the motor is operating in a potentially explosive
environment. The purpose of the safety function is to disconnect the motor from the power
supply before the motor overheats and causes a risk of explosion in an ATEX environment.

supports PROFIsafe over PROFINET IO. Safety communication, drive control and PC tool
communication using only one Ethernet cable is made possible using the FSPS-21. This “one
wire” solution will reduce time needed to establish a connection between the drive and PLC.
