General Electric Company Ltd of England, founded in
1889. Over the years, the company integrated the
major electrical businesses of GEC, English Electric,
Marconi, Henley and A.E.I to comprise one of the
most extensive and diverse electrical engineering
and manufacturing organisation in the world.
In 1956, English Electric opened its operation at
Regents Park in Sydney, and has provided
employment and training to thousands of
people in the Australian electrical industry.
