IPD had the pleasure of working closely with Price Trandos, a leading switchboard builder
based in Perth. Price Trandos has built a sound reputation for being a specialist manufacturer

of control and instrumentation cabinets, low and medium voltage, and main and distribution
switchboards, servicing the Perth and Sydney market.

When mining power system specialist Divergent Engineering needed a 1000V MCC for the new
North Pit High-Wall Pump De-watering Project installation as part of the Newmont Boddington
Gold Mine Expansion Project, they consulted Price Trandos. With the specification calling for
soft starters on the two 400Hp Booster Pumps, Price Trandos turned to IPD – the Australian

distribution partner for AuCom soft starters.

IPD’s Perth-based Power Solutions Sales Specialist, Lee Morcom, worked with Price Trandos’
Design Engineer, Edison Niegas, and Vincent Choi from Divergent Engineering, to create a
solution using AuCom EMX4 1200V soft starters that exceeded specification requirements and
simplified MCC manufacture. “IPD provided timely data and dimensional detail that allowed us
to make our switchboard design fit the scope of works.” says Edison. “The AuCom EMX4 1200V

were delivered on time and very easily installed into the switchboard.”
