HVI Conductor

The HVI / HVI long Conductor can be used for a wide range of installa-
tions for example, to protect larger roof-mounted structures, antennas as s s
well as masts with information technology systems against direct light-
ning strikes. Due to its special characteristics, this conductor can also be ≤ 75 cm
directly routed to the earth-termination system. If this is not required, < 75 cm
connection to already existing conventional lightning protection systems
(elevated / isolated ring conductor) is also possible.
If power needs to be distributed to several conductors to reduce the sep-
aration distance or if longer conductors are needed up to four additional
conductors can be installed on the outside of the supporting tube using
a special fixing kit.
HVI Conductor With the high-voltage-resistant, insulated conductor a separation dis-
tance to electrically conductive parts according to IEC 62305-3 is main-
tained. Equivalent separation distance s ≤ 0.75 m (air) or s ≤ 1.5 m (solid
material).
Two versions are available depending on the application:
• HVI Conductor (pre-assembled)
• HVI long Conductor (on a reel / cut to length)

HVI Conductor (pre-assembled)
The pre-assembled HVI Conductors, both for installation inside and out-
side the tube, have a tightly mounted head piece with a heat-shrinkable
sleeve. The second conductor end can be precisely positioned with the
connection element included as a loose part to suit the structure of the
system.

HVI long Conductor (on a plywood reel / cut to length)
The HVI long Conductor can be assembled on site and thus allows for
great flexibility when it comes to unknown or changing building situ-
ations and structures (new buildings, restoration) where the exact HVI
Conductor lengths of the lightning protection system cannot be deter-
mined at the planning stage.
The HVI long Conductor is available with a length of 100 m on a dispos-
able plywood reel (diameter approx. 900 mm, width approx. 485 mm) or
as cut to length version (6 - 70 m).
The installer determines the exact length on site, cuts the conductor to
length, strips it and attaches the sealing ends.
