The UNI disconnecting clamps are used as lightning current carrying capable connections Material StSt
from air-termination tips or rods to conductors respectively from down conductors to the
earth entries, as per IEC 62305-3 (VDE 0185-305-3) and DIN EN 62561-1 (VDE 0185-561-1).
We herewith confirm that the UNI disconnecting clamps are suitable for use in Ex zone 2 (gas, Clamping range Rd / Rd 10 / 10 mm
vapour, mist) and Ex zone 22 (dust).
The UNI disconnecting clamps have no potential source of ignition (component) of their own
and are thus not subject to the European directive ATEX 2014/34/EU.
Clamping range Rd / Fl 10 / 30 mm
Therefore, approval according to the European directive ATEX 2014/34/EU is legally
impossible and not required from an explosion protection point of view.
