PRODUCT SPECIFICATION PRESCRIPTION
        TECHNO MODULAR SWITCHBOARDS

        Low Voltage Switchgear and Control Gear Assemblies must comply with all applicable Australian and New Zealand
        Standards referenced within this specification, including but not limited to:
        AS/NZS 61439.1:2016   General Rules
        AS/NZS 61439.2:2016   Power switchgear and control gear assemblies
        AS/NZS 3000: 2018     Wiring Rules



        Switchboards

        Application
        This subsection covers switchboards, motor control centers, control panels, etc. including Substation LV Main Switchboards and
        Building Main Switchboards.
        The main switchboard, Motor Control Centres and etc shall be of a free standing, fully modular type system.
        Elsteel Techno or equivalent and comply with the requirements of Design Verification Tests as required by AS/NZS 61439.1 & 2 :2016
        standards with tests done to include at least three brands of switchgear devices.

        Standards and Approvals

        The LV Electrical Switchboard shall comply with AS/NZS 61439.1, AS/NZS 61439.2 & AS/NZS 3000 and the additional requirements in
        the job specification, ensuring that the switchboard will meet the required safety, performance, and installation standards.
        The switchboard manufacturer shall ensure that the design and construction of all switchboards comply with the regulations of
        the local supply authority and are acceptable to them and shall provide the required verification documents, to AS/NZS 61439.1,
        Annex D, Table D.1 of the standard, Routine Verification plus any other requirements as agreed.


        Assembly Manufacturer
        Switchboards shall be constructed by approved specialist manufacturers with proven experience in building Design Verified
        panels to AS/NZS 61439.1 & 2:2016

        Design & layout

        The switchboards and Motor Control Centres shall be designed in accordance with AS/NZS 61439.1 Annex C, Table C1 standard
        options. Unless otherwise specified, the default arrangement will apply.Locate equipment in a neat and logical order according
        to function and size. Meters and controls shall be preferably at eye level not below 300mm and not higher than 1900mm from the
        finished floor level.


        Room Clearances
        Check on site as well as the latest copies of Architectural and Structural Drawings to determine space available for assemblies
        including allowance for access during installation. Ensure that each assembly is designed so that it can be satisfactorily installed
        and that all necessary clearances are provided for satisfactory maintenance and operation of equipment after installation. The
        equipment shall comprise of a number of cubicles for assembly on site.

        Rating and Protection
        The assembly and equipment shall be rated to the current carrying capacity, operating temperature, maximum prospective fault
        current and other classifications as specified on drawings and in accordance with Australian Standards.
          •   Design Verified Assemblies shall comply with the short circuit protection and withstand requirements as outlined in AS/NZS
              61439.1 & 2:2016.
          •   Fault levels shall be consistent with the design verification test data, ensuring the assemblies can withstand  the specified
              thermal and dynamic stresses.
