INTRODUCTION

        ABOUT EXT56

With limited space available in electrical rooms, many users are
opting to install switchboards outside. In some cases, site or project
requirements leave the end user no choice other than to locate the
switchboard outdoors. These critical electrical assets need to be
protected from the harsh environmental conditions.

For over 25 years, IPD has provided the Australian electrical industry
with a market-leading, compliant Techno switchboard solution for
indoor applications. IPD has used this technology, knowledge and
experience to come out with a tested and certified modular solution
for switchboard builders to assemble Design Verified boards for
        outdoor applications.

The EXT56 system has been subjected to additional testing to comply with part 4 of the AS/NZS 61439 standard that covers particular
requirements for assemblies for construction sites. A newly designed venting system rated to IP56 was also included in the test. This
development enhances IPD’s outdoor switchboard offering and provides users with a fully design verified solution for their construction
sites and mobile power distribution applications.
