As the need for greener energy grows, so does the importance of energy storage. The safety of energy
storage applications has become a major focus. Smart monitoring systems have allowed mitigating
catastrophic failures of energy storage systems, however fuses remain the safest solution once
everything else has failed. The safety of EES applications are now being assured as the result of the
introduction of specially designed fuses for EES applications complimented by simulated lab tests and
a new IEC Standard 60269-7.
